BE A PART OF THE VEG-VOLUTION WITH THE PLANT HUB’S NEW ACADEMY – COMING SOON.
– A brand-new plant-based space is coming to East London complete with a culinary school and kitchen to inspire true community, food knowledge and forward-thinking education.
– Fund-raising for The Plant Hub’s Academy on Kickstarter ends soon.

[London, November 2018] The Plant Hub, a brand-new space coming to East London in January 2019 is set to revolutionise the way we see, eat and understand vegetables. Dubbed the new incubator for nurturing plant curiosity, The Plant Hub’s new Academy perfectly encapsulates the wants and needs of the modern consumer, but they need your help before they open their doors.

Created by plant-based chef, entrepreneur and former PlantLab instructor Lauren Lovatt alongside Salad Pride author and founder of Pride Kitchen David Bez, The Plant Hub has bared its project on Kickstarter to raise the funds needed for The Plant Academy in exchange for one of their innovative and creative culinary classes in order to buy the equipment ahead of the launch.

Inspired by the need for a dynamic and accessible plant-based community in London, The Plant Hub is looking to raise £20,000 by Thursday 6th December 2018 to make their Academy a reality, which will sit alongside a plant-based café and deli. Co-founder Lauren wants to inspire a new generation of plant-based eaters by offering pledge packages from as little as £15 which includes lunch at their Plant Based Café and a tour of the Academy before the rest of the public, through to more detailed and intricate workshops and masterclasses with inspiring guest chefs and weekly packages which make the perfect Christmas present for any budding foodie. Plant Passionate Sponsors who pledge £5,000 or more can create their own bespoke course designed around their or their business needs and includes three days of hands-on training plus consultancy for one month as well as a mirage of plant-based goodies, meals and recipes which is an ideal investment for restaurants and food establishments who want to up their plant-based knowledge.

“We want The Plant Hub to be a place of learning – a place where we can inspire new and existing chefs; support the current wave of plant-based eaters; the nation as a whole through our network of plant-based thought leaders and entrepreneurs and extensive expertise within the industry while making lasting change by reconnecting our passion and love for ingredients, seasons and creative plant food ” Lovatt comments.

Each pledge, made on their Kickstarter page, automatically qualifies the pledger for a Plant Academy Class which will be running throughout the year and will be redeemable throughout 2019 and includes hands-on lessons with seasonal recipes and insights into plant-based techniques that can be re-created at home as well as giving the pledger the unique opportunity to be a part of The Plant Hub’s launch and watch them evolve and grow knowing they were a part of the veg-volution from the start.

Seasonality, community and locality are at the heart of everything The Plant Hub does, and each course taken at The Plant Academy will focus only on the most important topics within the realms of the plant-based industry taught by Lauren and David themselves alongside trained chefs, professional nutritionists and influential plant-based leaders; supporting local producers and suppliers.

“Being curious is key” Lauren states. “Being around others who are equally as curious and eager to learn, can be life-changing. The Plant Hub is an opportunity to become a part of an inclusive and supportive community that not only inspires health and creativity but also teaches vital life skills in a dynamic plant powered way.”

The money raised through Kickstarter will allow The Plant Hub to kit out the Academy and turn it into a working professional kitchen, equipped with specialised equipment, fridges and freezers as well as installing workstations, and providing chopping boards, rolling pins and pans and allow The Plant Hub team to connect a new audience with the joy of plants and inspire their culinary creativity for years to come.
