BBL Cup, South Group
Surrey Scorchers 64-71 Bristol Flyers (14-28, 30-38, 49-60)
(Scorchers – Ogedengbe 14, Hawthorne 13, S. White 11; Flyers – G. Thomas 17, Thomas-Edwards 15, Delpeche 12)
Bristol Flyers bounced back from defeat on Friday night to beat Surrey Scorchers 71-64 on the road in the BBL Cup South Group on Saturday.
The visitors flew out of the blocks, unbelievably leading 15-0 approaching four minutes as Raphell Thomas-Edwards scored six points in a row.
But they had to see off a characteristic Scorchers comeback, as the hosts were back within four in the fourth quarter.
Flyers were led through by Gentrey Thomas, who finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals.
