We sometimes feel tired or lack energy because of our daily habits, routines, lifestyle, etc. To remedy this, we do a few fitness exercises, or we decide to take a short break to regain energy. What if, instead, we focused, for once, on our inner strength? More than just our physical strength, our inner strength allows us to overcome life’s various challenges. However, this strength is not limited to the force of our thoughts alone. It is much more than that. Let’s discuss what inner strength is, how to feel it and how to strengthen it.

The Concept of Inner Strength

Before getting to the heart of the matter, it is important to recognize that the concept of inner strength is interpreted in different ways, according to different thoughts. First of all, in common parlance, it is the force that is within us. In other words, apart from physical strength, there is mental strength and emotional strength that is present in each of us. It is in this sense that we feel the inner strength of someone who has charisma or a strong character.

Different cultures and societies have tried to portray inner strength in different ways, but they all circle back to the same key concepts. For example, in India, there is the notion of “Ojas”. It is a spiritual force or energy. According to the followers of yoga, this force is attributed to the god Indra. They also claim that it is the highest force that the human body contains. It is the essence of positive energy and is found in the heart. Ojas is partly inherited from our parents and partly produced by ourselves (which is not wrong given that recent medical studies have found that our mood is partly determined by our genetics).

Feel Your Inner Strength

Some signs indicate that we have strong inner energy: feeling fresh in the morning, having radiant skin, having a clear mind and a pleasant body odour from good hygiene — Other physical signs may also indicate a declining inner strength: bad breath, poor appetite, pain and fatigue, depression. People often underestimate the impact of their inner health on their physical condition, but studies have confirmed what traditional wisdom has long known, you can feel physical pain, fatigue, and much more just due to imbalances in your inner condition.

Several factors may be responsible for the decrease in inner strength: Injuries, overexposure to the sun, lack of sleep, poor nutrition. To increase your inner strength, you need, for example, to go to bed early, eat healthy food, exercise, etc. But well beyond these physical practices, there are also mental and philosophical sides that we will discuss below.

Visualization

Visualization exercises allow us to calm down, focus and restore our inner energy. To visualize is to activate the mind to allow the creation of pictures inside our minds that will have a positive effect on our state of being. It is necessary to start by having a precise and particular intention. We will then direct our energy in such a way that can bring our intention to life. To do this, we must create an image of our purpose in our mind with our eyes closed. There should be a willingness to explore and change in order for this to work.

We can clear our mind and become positive through visualization exercises. This consists of releasing negative thoughts and making room for new positive thoughts. You can practice by choosing a positive thought. Start by closing your eyes and relax through rhythmic breathing. Imagine that you are living the positive thought, affirm and visualize the image in your mind.

Meditation

Meditation is also very effective for feeling and regaining one’s inner energy. You learn to communicate with yourself and your mind through meditation. Meditation allows us to free our mind from negative thoughts by focusing on the present. The basic principle is that everything negative prevents us from moving forward. By meditating, we can also stimulate our spirituality to produce the inner energy necessary for our well-being. When we are aware of the different negative thoughts that are expanding our energy, we can erase them in order to regain an inner positive force. If all these sound complicated, you can ask for the help of a life coach in London to help you get through whatever rough patch you’re finding yourself in.
