London’s largest event for first time buyers went digital for the first time ever on Saturday 24th April, welcoming a whopping 1,100 budding buyers through their virtual doors. A one-stop-shop for first time buyers looking to find out more about Shared Ownership, Help to Buy and all things affordable home ownership, the Virtual London Home Show gave attendees the unparalleled opportunity to speak with some of the property market’s biggest names throughout the day, all from the comfort of their own home.
During this spring’s interactive online event, attendees had access to all the resources, seminars and face-to-face conversations that they would have at the physical event via their computers and mobile devices. Each expert exhibitor had their own virtual booth, making it easy for hopeful buyers to book appointments to speak one-on-one with sales teams, specialist mortgage brokers and conveyancing solicitors, and get their questions answered. Over the course of the day, more than 230 individual meetings occurred through live chat and video calls between exhibitors and buyers. Emphasising the eagerness of event attendees to find their new home, exhibitor developments were bookmarked over 6,600 times so that interested attendees could refer back to them quickly and easily.
Partnering with the city’s leading housing providers and sales agents, sponsors of the event included L&Q, Clarion Housing, Peabody, SO Resi by Metropolitan Thames Valley, Southern Home Ownership, Catalyst New Homes, Guinness Homes, Countryside Properties, Red Loft and Savills.
Hosted by Share to Buy, the UK’s leading online portal for Shared Ownership properties, the London Home Show is held twice a year, usually taking place at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster.
Nick Lieb, Head of Operations for Share to Buy comments: “After a challenging 12 months for many, the security and importance of having a place to call your own has never felt more apparent. As restrictions ease and life begins to return to normal, we’re seeing growing confidence in the property market and buyers determined to understand all their options when it comes to home ownership.
“It’s been amazing to see the eagerness of London’s first time buyers, highlighted by the number of attendees at our first ever Virtual London Home Show. The London Home Show is the largest event for first time buyers in the capital and we were thrilled to be able to take the show online to over a thousand potential buyers and offer them the same unprecedented access to housing experts and educational sessions under one virtual ‘roof’.
“The capital’s buyers remain undeterred from their goal of stepping onto the property ladder. From the start to the end, buyers were eager to meet with our exhibitors and engage in live chats and seminars – it’s promising to see the sustained strength of the property market and people’s remaining desire to create a home in the capital.”
Share to Buy hope to bring the London Home Show back to the QEII Centre this autumn, Saturday 18th September 2021. For more information about Share to Buy, visit www.sharetobuy.com.
