A Guide to Taking Your Business Out and About

If you’re fed up with being confined to your shop or restaurant all day, you might consider generating more income and livening up the day-to-day operations of your business by taking your company out and about.

Whether you have decided to take your company to a local fair or a trade show, here are some tips that you should follow.

  • Invest in the Right Packaging

If you’ve never taken your company to a fair or a trade show before, you might find that you don’t have the appropriate packaging for this type of environment. For instance, if you run a restaurant business, you might need materials that can allow you to offer takeaway products, rather than serving your food and drink on ceramic plates like you usually do.

You might consider looking at products such as a double walled coffee cup which can allow your customers to try your products outside your usual business environment. These cups can keep your drinks tasting delicious whilst ensuring that they stay hot for a long time.

You should consider both convenience and cost-effectiveness when looking for the right portable packaging.

  • Make it Known

If you’ve decided to take your business out and about rather than opening your shop or restaurant for the day, you should make this known to your regulars. Not only can this prevent disappointment, but it can also ensure that potential customers know where you’ll be and how to find you.

Your regulars may even decide to come along to the event in question. This can act as a marketing strategy that will allow you to increase your sales for the day, make a good profit, and ensure that your venture pays off. You should post about your upcoming events on social media and on your website.

  • Create a Great Display

To attract customers outdoors, it’s important that you create a great display for your stall. For instance, you might decide to design vivid and colourful posters and banners to place on your stall, or you might think carefully about the way that you position your products on your stall.

If you run a food business, you might decide to decorate your van, put some of the food on display to tempt potential customers, and even make sure that your stall or van smells as good as your food tastes. This will then ensure that customers know exactly what you offer and will encourage them to take a chance on your business, even if they have never heard of it before.

You should also make sure that your stall or van is hygienic though and ensure that you put plastic coverings over the food or put the food in display cases.

  • Talk to Customers

Instead of ignoring anyone who approaches your stall, it’s important to talk to everyone who pays an interest without being pushy. You should keep a friendly attitude and ensure that you’re ready to answer any questions that they may have. This then makes it more likely that they will purchase one of your products.
