It’s no secret that starting a side hustle is the best way to increase your wealth, even for top footballers who earn six figures every week1. We’ve seen various celebrities increase their wealth by putting their looks to good use and joining OnlyFans2, but how much could the top Premier League stars earn if they joined the platform?

Interested, the experts at SeatPick analysed Instagram data from this season’s top 100 Premier League players3 and took to Cam Model Agency4 to estimate how much the hottest stars could net if they dropped the ball and picked up the camera.

Highlights from the research:

  • Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could bag the most from OnlyFans – thanks to his Instagram following of over 62,300,000, he could earn almost 5 times his current monthly salary – to £7.9 MILLION a month.
  • Man City star Erling Haaland is runner-up, who could almost TRIPLE his salary to over £4.5 MILLION a month.
  • Fellow Man City star Kevin De Bruyne is third-favourite, he could earn over £3 MILLION a month extra – 78% more than his current monthly salary.
  • Tottenham’s Richarlison is sixth-favourite and could earn six times his monthly salary to over £2.9 MILLION a month.
  • Both Manchester United and Manchester City dominate the top ten – three players from each club feature.

Kicking off the top 10 is Mohamed Salah, who has the potential to make over £7.9 MILLION a month from OnlyFans, thanks to his 62,347,989 Instagram followers. The Liverpool star has bagged two goals already this season and a whopping 188 goals5 in total for The Reds, which certainly justifies his £1.5 million monthly salary. If Salah were to set up OnlyFans, he could make an extra £6.4 MILLION a month, a whopping 426% increase!

In second place is Man City striker Erling Haaland who, from his 35,584,375 Instagram followers could almost TRIPLE his monthly salary of £1,625,000 to at least £4.5 MILLION from OnlyFans. The 22-year-old has netted six goals6 so far this season (the most of any Premier League player) despite only making four appearances and earns a handsome salary because of it.

At #3 is fellow Man City player Kevin De Bruyne, who could make over £3 MILLION a month on OnlyFans from his 24,107,502 Instagram following. The 32-year-old winger is currently out on injury which he sustained in City’s opening game against Burnley so hasn’t been able to score any goals for the club.

In fourth place is Raphaël Varane. The Manchester United centre-back has 22,793,797 Instagram followers which could equate to him doubling his Man United salary to over £2.9 MILLION if he joins the OnlyFans platform.

Occupying the fifth spot is Gabriel Jesus. The Arsenal star has slightly fewer Instagram followers than Varane (22,759,850) which could earn him over £2.9 MILLION a month (£4,345 less than Varane) if he started OnlyFans. The Arsenal star has netted one goal so far this season, despite having only played 23minutes in total from his two appearances.

In sixth spot is Tottenham star Richarlison whose 22,734,023 Instagram followers could earn him over £2.9 MILLION a month if he joined OnlyFans. Richarlison hasn’t scored any goals for Spurs in this Premier League season but did score one goal against Fulham in the EFL Cup, and his infamous bicycle kick goal 8for Brazil in the World Cup earned him Goal of the Tournament, which has no doubt increased his profile! Should Richarlison start an OnlyFans, he could increase his salary by a whopping 646%! the most out of the players in the top ten.

In 10th place is Julián Álvarez who, based on his 14,269,043 Instagram followers, could QUADRUPLE his monthly Man City salary if he joined OnlyFans, making just over £1.8 million a month.

Methodology:

  1. SeatPick set out to discover how much current Premier League Players could potentially earn from OnlyFans.
  2. They began by creating a seed list of the top 100 Premier League players using Transfermarkt, which ranks the top 100 players by their market value.
  3. Next, the experts used Instagram9 to collect the number of followers each player has.
  4. SeatPick then converted each contestant’s Instagram follower count to potential OnlyFans earnings, using a conversion tool from Cam Model agency.
    1. This provides a monthly estimated earnings figure based on 8% of an individual’s Instagram followers subscribing to their OnlyFans.
  5. SeatPick assigned a value of $9.99 to each potential OnlyFans membership. This figure was sourced from a Business Insider10 article that interviewed one of the platform’s top earners.
  6. Monetary figures were calculated in USD ($) and then converted to GBP (£) & EU (€) using the Google Finance formula (which updates in real-time)
  7. Data for each player’s earnings this season was sourced from Capology.11
  8.  This was then compared to their estimated OnlyFans earnings to determine how much more/less they’d earn if they set up an OnlyFans profile.
  9. All statistics were collected on 13th September 2023 and are correct as of then.
