An award-winning aesthetics practitioner is cautioning consumers to be extra careful when shopping around for cheap deals on dermal fillers.
As the cost of living starts to bite, Amish Patel, Founder of Intrigue Cosmetic Clinic in the South East has seen a 30% increase in consumers contacting the clinic for corrective work following botched fillers over the past two months and in all these cases, ‘a low price’ was the key incentive.
“People are unknowingly taking risks by choosing to have dermal fillers based on low prices without doing the appropriate research.” The Expert warns.
“Dermal fillers can cause disfigurement, tissue death and even blindness in inexperienced or untrained hands. This is a growing issue in a largely unregulated industry, impacted by the cost of living. Just because something is cheap, it doesn’t equal good.”
“To undercut professional clinic prices, corners are being cut. These range from investing very little into training or no training, operating out of a shed in the garden, using cheap and inferior dermal fillers and not having the appropriate insurances in place. People are often surprised to know that anyone can buy dermal filler online and start injecting your face tomorrow with little or no experience or training.”
The Aesthetics Expert advises consumers to do their research;
“Do your research and make your decision based on safety, not cost. There is no such thing as ‘cheap fillers’, and the disastrous outcomes come at a high price from the extreme anxiety they cause the individual to the further expense and time in rectifying botched fillers.”
“Choose a health care practitioner working out of a professional clinical environment. Ask to see examples of their work and book a consultation to discuss your treatment. If it doesn’t feel right, don’t proceed with the treatment and look for a Save Face accredited practitioner. This is a government-approved register of practitioners, and we are proud to be rated as ‘excellence’ status.”
