| London Lions, Esh Group Eagles Newcastle and Surrey Scorchers all took the first step towards the Semi-Finals of the Play-Offs with victory on Friday night.
The Lions had led by as many as 17 against Worcester Wolves, but their lead ahead of Sunday’s reverse is just 1 with Justin Robinson scoring 28 points in the 84-85 victory. Meanwhile, Tony Hicks fired in 30 points to lead Surrey past Glasgow Rocks 84-82 and Newcastle defeated Bristol Flyers 97-86 behind 25 points from Darius Defoe. |

Worcester Wolves 84-85 London Lions (13-27, 39-52, 64-76)
Worcester Wolves kept their Play-Offs hopes alive, despite suffering a narrow defeat at home to London Lions having rallied from a 17-point deficit.
The second seeded visitors looked to be taking a commanding advantage back to the capital before a spirited response leaves the tie evenly poised ahead of Sunday’s reverse fixture.
Leading scorers – Beamon 25, Palmer 14, Marshall 13 (Wolves) – Robinson 28, Dixon 13, Thompson 12 (Lions)
Turning point – London went 5-of-5 from downtown in the first quarter and put up 52 points in the first half, leading by as many as 17 in the contest before the Wolves’ fourth-quarter fightback. They took their first lead through Alejandro Navajas at the foul line before big shots from Justin Robinson and Dzaflo Larkai helped Lions take the win.
Key stat – Worcester finished 17-19 at the free throw line and they clawed their way back by holding their opponents to single figures in the final quarter having conceded 76 through three.

Esh Group Eagles Newcastle 97-86 Bristol Flyers (24-16, 43-41, 68-56)
Esh Group Eagles Newcastle continued their dominance over Bristol Flyers at Sport Central with a 97-86 victory, in the first leg of the BBL Play-Offs Quarter-Finals.
Although still facing a double-digit deficit, the Flyers were able to reduce the Eagles advantage from 18 points to just 11 by the time the final buzzer sounded.
Leading scorers – Defoe 25, Nimley 19, Jukic 18 (Eagles) – Goodwin 20, Boggs 16, Weary 13 (Flyers)
Turning point – After a close first half, the Eagles blew the game wide open in the third quarter – outscoring the Flyers 25-15 to take control of the contest.
Key stat – The hosts found joy in the paint, pouring in 52 points under the basket and shooting 63% inside the arc.
Game hero(es) – Darius Defoe scored an efficient 25 points, while Saah Nimley (19 points, 12 assists) and Zarko Jukic (18 points, 10 rebounds) both contributed double-doubles.

Surrey Scorchers will take a two point advantage up to Glasgow, after a thrilling 84-82 first leg victory over the Rocks in the BBL Play-Offs Quarter Finals.
Despite defeat, the Rocks will head home full of confidence having led until the dying moments of the contest.
Leading scorers – Hicks 30, Robinson/Ogedengbe 14 (Scorchers) – Brown 14, Britt/Fraser 12 (Rocks)
Turning point – The home side produced a decisive 11-5 run to close out the contest and claim a slender advantage, in a game in which they trailed for much of the night.
Key stat – Surrey found their way to the free throw line on a regular basis and took full advantage of the opportunity – connecting on 19 of 21 attempts.
