Plymouth Raiders have confirmed the re-signing of Rashad Hassan for the 2019-20 season.
Hassan joined the Raiders late in the season in November and immediately showed his BBL experience, scoring 27 points in his first game against Glasgow before going on to lead the league in scoring with 20.04 points per game.
Hassan helped Raiders reach the benecos BBL Play-Offs for the first time in seven seasons and becomes the second signing for next season, joining Josh Wilcher as they look to build on their successes.
Hassan said: “I’m very excited to be returning back to Plymouth. The fans, the city and the great support for the club was a big factor in my decision to come back.
“I have no doubt that we will have another successful season and I’m looking to help push the team to reach its full potential.
“The sky’s the limit for us. Green is my favourite colour so I’m looking forward to putting on that Raiders jersey again.”
Head coach Paul James added: “I’m delighted that we have been able to pen Rashad ‘Deuce’ Hassan for the 2019-20 season.
“He has been immense for us, leads the league in scoring averaging over 20 points per game on nearly 65% success rate as well as collecting 7 rebounds per game.
“Rashad is one of our senior players and has led by example through being ‘Mr Consistency’ since joining us in November.
“He’s great to work with and had we have had him from the start of the season, I believe we would have been pushing for a top four finish in the league this season so it’s great to have him back for another season.”
