The first weekend of the 2019-20 BBL season has officially concluded, and the second day of basketball action saw plenty more to talk about.
Just like the last time Plymouth Raiders and London City Royals met, it was just two points which separated the two teams today, as Royals edged Raiders 87-89, despite a last second surge by Plymouth.
At Ponds Forge in Sheffield, B. Braun Sheffield Sharks bounced back from Friday’s defeat against Leicester Riders with a massive 34-point win over Manchester Giants, 95-61. Returning Nick Lewis and Robert Marsden combined together for 41-points whilst Mackey McKnight and Bennett Koch both racked up a double-double performance each.
Leicester Riders made it two wins in a row as they defeated Cheshire Phoenix 63-75 with Josh Ward-Hibbert completing his second double-double performance in two games.
And Newcastle Eagles also picked up their second win of the season, as they held off Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks 86-90 in a tightly held contest, in front of a 5,000+ crowd at the Emirates Arena.
