The residential area in southwest London is synonymous with the annual British championships, this year marking a momentous milestone – the centenary of Centre Court.

But as the tennis draws to a close and the crowds disperse, the locals and the appeal of the area remains. Sold prices in Wimbledon over the last year were 9% up on the previous year and 16% up on the 2018 peak*. The village is a huge draw for those moving to or already living in the area, the bustling high street, European-style café culture, an abundance of green spaces, attractive large period homes combined with its transport links, not forgetting the excellent schools, makes it one of the premium locations to live in in southwest London.

Combined, this has made the area extremely popular amongst a plethora of buyers, but particularly families who want large homes and gardens and access to green space while staying within a 30-minute commute of the City.

Catering to this demand is Wimbledon Homes, a new local and independent boutique estate agency situated in the heart of Wimbledon Village, with a vision of injecting a fresh and passionate approach to the local property market, established by Mark Beim.

“Once people are here, they tend to stay!” comments Mark. “The Village is such an amazing place, all year round not just for the 2 weeks of Wimbledon, when the whole tennis world arrives and creates a real global buzz and vibrant feel. It’s such a nice place to live with the best of both worlds – I am lucky to live and work in such a wonderful place and even luckier to see and sell some of the most special homes in the area.”

Wimbledon Homes are currently marketing two very different properties both located on prime roads in the heart of Wimbledon Village.

The first – Sunnyside, nestled in a secluded location off the high street, allowing for privacy, peace and zen. Built only a few years ago it has a modern and cosy feel with high ceilings, spacious open plan living and an indoor pool with a built-in resistor current. On the market with Wimbledon Homes for £6.25m

The second – Parkside Avenue, a period 7,000 sq ft home with views over the Common on the market for £7.75m, with scope to add value with a basement extension and nestled in between houses worth over £15m pounds on one of the most highly regarded roads in London.
