British Basketball can confirm that the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester will host the final two FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2019 qualification games and the Great Britain Men’s first game in round two of FIBA EuroBasket 2021 Pre-Qualifiers in November.
Both teams need your support as the women look to secure their place at EuroBasket Women 2019, while the men start their journey towards EuroBasket 2021 in the Pre-Qualifiers.
Chema Buceta’s side currently have three wins from four in their qualifying group and have two huge games at home to Greece and Portugal.
Two wins will guarantee qualification and GB will be hoping for a repeat of their memorable victory over Israel last year when they were inspired by the home support in Manchester.
The Men are looking for a solid start at home when they take on Austria with the perfect opportunity to produce a win on home soil.
Mark Clark, British Basketball Performance Director, said “We are delighted that British Basketball is returning to Manchester in November for three important games for British Basketball. These are vital games and I hope that a strong home crowd will assist the teams in securing three wins.”
Manchester City Council’s Executive Member for Schools, Culture and Leisure, Councillor Luthfur Rahman, said: “I’m sure that Great Britain’s teams can’t wait to perform in front of a passionate Manchester crowd at the world-class National Basketball Performance Centre. Hosting international games of this calibre will be a major boost to our efforts to encourage more Manchester residents to get into basketball. We look forward to welcoming Greece, Portugal and Austria’s teams to Manchester, but of course are hoping that GB come out on top in what will be a highly competitive and exciting series of matches.”
Don’t miss out on your chance to see both teams in action.
