How to Get Your Business More Exposure in 2022

ByDave Stopher

Feb 1, 2022

As we enter into a new year that all but guarantees economic growth, some of us are still left wondering how to get more exposure for our business.

Do we create 10x more content? Do we pray that an influencer spots us and spreads the word? Do we take out huge loans to employ more staff and hope that growth will bring prosperity?

While all these are viable options, there is no need to be so drastic!

To help you brainstorm some ideas on how to make 2022 your year, we’ve put together some helpful ways to get your business more exposure.

Invest in SEO

Invest might not be the right word, as SEO doesn’t necessarily cost you anything. All it takes is some careful planning and a well thought out strategy. However, if you’re new to SEO or don’t have the time to commit to a 6-12 month campaign, it can be a great idea to reach out to an agency for some help.

SEO can be incredibly time consuming, and if you don’t know what you’re doing, you can end up going down rabbit holes that drain your time and budget.

So, if you want to get more exposure for your business, where better to start than on the world’s biggest search engine!

Most online purchases start with a Google search, so you need to ensure your prospects can find you there.

Create Video Content

People are spending more and more time on their phones using apps such as TikTok and Instagram, so why not start creating video content?

Video content provides your prospects with a unique insight into you and your brand and allows you to build a relationship that you can’t get from written content.

Your content doesn’t have to be long and doesn’t have to be overly produced. All it has to do is highlight your brand and show your prospects what sets you apart from your competitors.

Tools such as Instagram reels, TikTok and YouTube shorts allow you to create short-form content that users can consume on the go.

The main point here is that video content creates a more personalised way of advertising, allowing you to connect and build brand awareness directly from your phone. So, if you’re looking to boost your exposure, start creating video content!

Podcasting

Whether you start your own or reach out to others that discuss issues related to your industry, there’s never been a better time to get involved with podcasting if you’re looking to increase your exposure.

Podcasts have fast become one of the most popular forms of entertainment, and no doubt anyone reading this has at least 1 or 2 regular podcasts that they listen to on a daily or weekly basis.

And much like YouTube channels, there is a podcast for almost anything. So, no matter what product or service you offer, have a look around to see if there are any podcasts that you can reach out to, and if there aren’t any, start your own!

Offer incentives

Reputation is everything, and people looking for your product or service will likely do some due diligence before they decide which company to go with, which is why it’s important to have some positive reviews on your website and Google business profile.

In order to encourage people to leave reviews, it’s a good idea to offer incentives, such as a discount on their next purchase or access to free content. Whatever you offer, incentives are a tried and tested way to encourage reviews.

However, don’t be tempted to create fake accounts and start leaving reviews, as this will likely end up affecting your search engine ranking as well as ruin your credibility.

Google knows when you’re trying to cheat the system, and people looking at reviews will likely be able to tell which ones are fake and which ones are authentic.

Invest in some paid ads

Forget what you heard about paid ads – they’re not spammy, and they can generate excellent exposure if done correctly.

Similar to SEO, paid ads create exposure by advertising your business on the search engine results page. However, instead of organically ranking, paid ads are determined by bids.

Bidding strategies can be done manually or automatically, so you don’t necessarily have to be an expert to start running ads.

But, as mentioned with SEO, it can help to get the help of an agency that specialises in PPC if you want to get the best return on your ads.

PPC combined with SEO can be one of the best ways to increase exposure, so don’t think of the two as opponents!

Final words

We hope this guide helps, and more importantly, we hope that your business gets the exposure it deserves.

2022 is a year that promises growth, so don’t miss out!
