Luton uses Halo app to lead the way in COVID protection
Luton Borough Council has partnered with Halo Solutions to help venues remain compliant and secure for the public prior to lockdown.
Halo Solution’s multi-award winning, world class event management software is being used by Luton and Bedford’s Covid marshals to co-ordinate their efforts as they advise and support businesses and members of the public on social distancing rules, reminding people to wear a face covering where necessary and ensuring the track and trace legislation and NHS app is working correctly.
Halo streamlines security, health and safety, communications and even lost property in an infinite range of incidents and procedures that has so far kept over five million event goers safe, reduced insurance premiums and other costs as well as being credited with saving lives at carnivals, marathons and skiing events across Europe since its inception. It’s a three part system but it’s the uniquely designed mobile app which gives it the operational edge over other systems. It has been proven to save time, save money and protect people, every day. Standing up to scrutiny from Safety Advisory Groups, Insurance Brokers and Coroner’s Court, it’s the perfect audit trail producing digital, tamper-proof logs for evidence in any investigation.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently hailed Luton as a shining example in the COVID battle. Speaking to the BBC he said the way Luton reacted to coronavirus restrictions was the “way forward for the entire country”.
Cllr Jacqui Burnett, portfolio holder for public protection at Luton Borough Council, says: “We’re really impressed with both the ease with which this app can be used and the information our Covid Marshalls can provide. The system allows the user to log the type of incident, risk rating, links a photo and plots the location on a map. This can then be reported and escalated to the correct team or agency, making the whole process more efficient and effective.”
Halo Solutions Co-Founder and COO Greg Horsford adds: “Our Halo System is incredibly versatile and it’s so important for us to be able to expand into new verticals, especially now, when Covid-19 is having such a devastating impact on the events and sports industries. Bringing different functional areas into one communications platform, so the council can all do their job more efficiently and safely is exactly what we’re about. Halo has a place for every team in any sector, every day.”
