Serving delicious helpings of decadence and sophistication, Stratford’s new Art Deco spectacle is an enticing, peaceful hideaway from its buzzing location

Centrally located on the third floor of the new Hyatt Regency London Stratford, the Elondi Restaurant, Bar and Terrace offer guests, shoppers, and locals alike an unrivalled, discreet, and sophisticated oasis away from the famously lively walkways of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Westfield Stratford City. With Sicilian chef Alessandro Femino at the helm, the restaurant’s menu bursts with inspiration from the iconic cuisine of his home region in Italy, while celebrating local dishes and London suppliers.

With his passion for great ingredients and simple cuisine, Sicilian head-chef Alessandro Femino has created a sophisticated, yet unfussy menu featuring traditional Italian-inspired dishes and outstanding British fare.

Elondi Restaurant starters include delicate Shucked Oysters mignonette with fresh lemon, and moreish H. Foreman & Son’s Salmon fishcakes, served with horseradish and cress and salmon caviar.

Femino’s passion for perfection can be experienced in his Braised Steak & Brixton Ale Pie main, his hand-mastered pastry is an exquisite partner for the succulent steak, that has been tenderly cooked for seven hours.

The Crab Linguine is Sicilian perfection, sublimely uncomplicated it contains only La Tua Linguine, tomato, fresh chilli, soft herbs, lemon and pangrattato. “You don’t need to hide ingredients, says Alessandro Femino, the best dishes are usually the simplest”. Perhaps the simplest and most defining dish is his 28-day dry age 10 oz Rib-eye steak, served with grilled asparagus and roasted vine tomatoes.

Even a simple salad can be taken to the next level; take Femino’s ‘perfect salad’ with Rosary Goats Cheese with Ash, paired with golden beetroot, mâche lettuce, borage honey dressing and candied walnuts. “I don’t like over-sophistication,” says Alessandro, “to take the plate to that extra mile, you need to treat the ingredients the right way, patience and timing are everything.”

Elondi Restaurant’s take on Tandoori chicken; brings a taste of neighbouring Brick Lane to the plate, deliciously spiced chicken is protectively cooked with yoghurt, served with lemon juice and a luscious raita salad. And absolutely no one should leave without trying the Celeriac chips with truffle mayo.

Dine relaxed, amidst beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows, and a myriad of seating choices, including richly upholstered banquettes and the private dining options. The Elondi Restaurant is peaceful, spacious and its interiors – opulent. The service is thoughtful and attentive, and with Alessandro’s preference for perfection, the Elondi Restaurant’s focus is to serve consistently great food.

Elondi Bar and Terrace

A spectacle of Art Deco, with elegant fittings and bold, cushy, plush chairs that pop against an exquisite palate of deep ultramarine blue, the Elondi Bar is a vibrant, airy oasis in which to relax and unwind. Peruse its extensive wine list, discover exciting bespoke and classic cocktails, sip local and craft beers and nibble on small gourmet bar snacks.

From the bar enjoy classically driven cocktails with an East London twist, including “Blowing Bubble’s” made with Cognac, Champagne and angostura, a tribute to the close by West Ham Football Club’s anthem song, and “Double Kray” with Butlers Gin made in Hackney Wick, less than a mile from the hotel, along with elderflower liquor and apple juice, a nod to The Kray brothers were famous East London gangsters.

The carefully curated wine list has an international spin, with wines from France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand along with local English favourites from Wales and Kent.

The sophisticated Elondi Bar opens out onto the Terrace; a delightful and spacious 538 square foot (150 square meter) all-weather, al-fresco spot upon which to catch-up and cocktail, away from the crowds. Decked out with modern furniture and plants, the Elondi Terrace is the perfect rooftop oasis to enjoy all year around.

Whether resting after a successful shopping trip at Westfield Stratford City, a day out at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, taking a breather ahead of a concert at ABBA Voyage or a sell-out gig at The London Stadium, take that well-deserved moment to luxuriate. The Terrace is also available for private functions.
