W12 Conferences assists NHS as part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

As part of the NHS, London conference venue W12 Conferences has been lending its spaces out to store supplies for frontline NHS workers.

Despite a lack of events their spaces have been anything but empty, holding supplies for local NHS workers including food, drinks, energy drinks and more recently, Easter eggs. Near to Shepherd’s Bush, W12 is part of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust which the supplies were generously donated to by two employee perk schemes: The Work Perk and Gems at Work. An impressive 12,000 Easter eggs were also donated from Mars Wrigley, incorporated as a treat over the long Easter weekend. The Trust have been responsible for distributing the supplies to key workers.

Tony Steedman, Head of Conferences at W12 said: “It’s very rewarding to see the power of bringing people together and for W12 Conferences to be able to help support the front line via these employee perk schemes is fantastic.”

Not only has W12 been making the most of its surplus space, but all venue staff have also been locally redeployed to help their fellow colleagues elsewhere in the NHS, thus avoiding any furloughing of staff. Far from their usual day-to-day catering for conferences, the team is now working on the frontline across pharmaceuticals, food preparation and facility cleaning.

The venue will assist the NHS for as long as required and will not re-open until appropriate, however they are hopeful about taking bookings later on in the year. They will be monitoring the situation as it continues to unfold over the next few months and react accordingly.

W12 Conferences is a not-for-profit venue. Surplus funds are re-invested into training for key workers including doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants in the National Health Service.
