SFE Services is a Buckinghamshire-based air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation company. Founded in 2017 and based in Widmer End, High Wycombe, it is owned and managed by husband-and-wife team Grant and Sophie Davenport. The business delivers new installations, retrofits, repairs, maintenance and servicing to commercial and high-end residential clients.

Project Administrator at SFE Services, Lauren Betsworth, shares why she loves living and working in Buckinghamshire. Lauren reveals her hidden gems and must-visit places in and around South Bucks.

 

Pasta Guys – what’s not to love!

 

Situated in High Wycombe, Pasta Guys on Desborough Road offers fresh, fast and delicious pasta on the go. The menu is filled with mouth-watering dishes and catering to all kinds of different tastes!

 

Hughenden Park – a tranquil escape

 

Nestled in an iconic Chiltern valley, Hughenden Park provides a tranquil escape from the demands of daily life. It was also the country home of Victorian Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli. With approximately 25 hectares of stunning parkland, the area boasts breathtaking views that stretch across the countryside.

 

Independent cafés and coffee shops – there’s something for everyone

 

Bucks is renowned for being a foodie hotspot with its numerous critically acclaimed eateries. What makes the county truly special is its vibrant array of independent cafés and coffee shops. Some particular favourites include the award-winning The Front Room coffee lounge on Castle Street in High Wycombe. Also in the town centre is The Air Raid Shelter Tea Room, a 1940s-themed café which promises to take customers on an authentic trip back in time. Further afield, situated in the beautiful Chiltern Hills in Saunderton is The Grange at Hearing Dogs For Deaf People. The restaurant, which supports the charity, has tables indoors and outdoors on the terrace and courtyard for alfresco dining. Four-legged friends are most welcome too. Lastly, The Apple Orchard in the historic West Wycombe village is a must-visit. The family-friendly café serves not only coffee but also cakes and savouries. There are also gluten-free, veggie, and vegan options.

 

 

Penn Fest and Pub In The Park – festivals on our doorstep

 

The county plays host to many popular festivals, making it a destination for locals and visitors during the summer months. Penn Fest, held in the picturesque village of Penn is home to a family-friendly music festival. Grown from humble beginnings as a village festival in 2011 to a well-respected fixture on the UK festival circuit. The festival has headlined acts such as Razorlight and Bastille, with Paul Weller taking to the stage for 2024. For foodies, there is also Pub In The Park at Marlow’s Higginson Park. It is a celebration of food, chefs restaurants and music, hosted by renowned chef, Tom Kerridge and other well-known faces from the world of food.

 

 

Natural History Museum, Tring – free family fun

Located in Tring, The Natural History Museum, houses one of the finest collections of stuffed mammals, birds, reptiles and insects in the UK. Visitors come face-to-face with creatures including a polar bear, crocodiles and the extinct quagga. Explore its many exhibitions throughout the year and galleries for all the family including free admission. It’s the ultimate winner to keep those inquisitive young minds occupied on a rainy day.

 

 

Wycombe Wanderers – our Chairboys!

 

High Wycombe proudly boasts its own professional football club Wycombe Wanderers  – fondly known as ‘The Chairboys’. With their home ground, Adam’s Park, located in Sands it’s easy to visit and cheer them on. Our beloved club has a rich history and a passionate fan base with supporters of all ages attending matches. SFE Services is proud to sponsor the terrace board with our ‘Keeping Wycombe’s Balls Cool’ campaign – which drives the atmosphere on match days, with so many passionate Wanderers supporters hailing from the town.

In Great Missenden is Hildreth’s Garden Centre which is open all year round and has something for everyone, including our furry friends. The dog-friendly garden centre also has an on-site café, serving delicious cakes, hot meals, and seasonal treats. There is also a popular hardware and pet shop, plus a renowned cook and gift shop. Their seasonal offerings are amazing and there’s always something new to consider. For example, their Christmas trees are widely regarded as some of the freshest in the area and at times like Easter, Mother’s Day and Valentine’s the fresh floral arrangements and gifting options are exceptional value. It truly is a gem of the area.
